So I just got home after going to see my new GI doctor. First, I showed up for my appointment at 10 o'clock this morning and the receptionist said, "Oh, she's never here on Thursday morning, you must have got it wrong, your appointment is at 2:15." So I went back for 2:15 (when I didn't have my car since Adrian had gone to work by then) and had to wait 40 minutes to get in to see her. Once inside, she started talking to me and then was called out of the office to act as a translator between someone who came in who didn't speak English! Then she came back, started talking again and then answered the phone again and talked to another doctor about a different patient for over 10 minutes while I was sitting there!
Anyway, long story short this is the outcome: -Gotta have the ol' colonoscopy again. Haven't had one since 1992, so I'm havin' it done again! Excellent! Gah! What's worse is that because I am on the Asacol which is managing my symptoms, they won't know anything from the test so I have to go off the medication! For a MONTH! I don't know what I am going to do if my symptoms flare way back up again, how am I gonna work? I can barely manage NOW.. oy.. -She said I should have come sooner to deal with the reflux stuff, and gave me a long list of all the complications (including esophogal cancer!) that I could have put myself at risk for. So, I have to go in and have the barium swallow x-ray thing for that, and she said I have to start taking steps to deal with it.. even though when I went on the meds for it before, my D was so bad I was having 10+ attacks a day!
To make matters even worse than that, I got a parking ticket 'cause I was there so bloody long and it's gonna cost me $40. Great.
To make matters even worse than THAT, my mom came home from a hospital appointment today and they found something in her breast that they had decided are not cysts, so she has to go for a biopsy and stuff to decide how to deal with it.
I have a job interview tomorrow downtown, but it is a 45 minute commute for every day on public transport but if I have to go off my medication and get that unstable, I won't be able to do that... Gaaaaaaaaaaaah.
At least I have a cute dog, right??
