Hubby and I had a problem with sleep before we went on our diet. Now we sleep like babes, all night long -- wonderful, uninterrupted sleep -- and wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! It's WONDERFUL!
One of the real important tricks that Oprah's trainer insisted upon for her really works: no food at least two hours before bed. Hubby and I carried that to extreme by extending it to three hours before bed. Also, we cut out sugar and fat and bread and -- well, just about everything -- and we've both lost weight and are feeling GREAT! But we discovered a wonderful side effect: we're sleeping like logs! It's FANTASTIC!
Hubby was drinking a lot of sugary, creamy, instant "international" coffee (two cans a week); I swear it was the sugar, caffeine and fat that were keeping him awake. I was having crackers or toast before bed, so ditto with me.
It ain't fun goin' to bed with a starving tummy (hey, my tummy is ALWAYS like that now), but feeling as terrific as we do, having our jeans fall off us, and getting such fantastic sleep every single night is WELL WORTH IT!
