Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Ready to give up...need some positive words

Hey Guys,

I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I feel completely awful today, so I dragged myself back to the doctor who said again that he thinks it's just that stupid hand foot and mouth virus. I explained to him that was what he said 2 weeks ago, at which point I rested, got better and am now feeling even worse again. He said that's common with this virus and that I just need to keep waiting.

But then, he proceeds to say I may also have bronchitis, so to keep an eye on that and come back if it's worse. I also appear to have a rash coming up near both my armpits and on my lower back which he seemed to think "may" be from the virus but to keep an eye on that as well.

So basically, I was left feeling like he was essentially just guessing at what was wrong with me (which I hate) and now I still feel like crap and have no real explanation why. Can viruses last this freakin' long?!?

Also, he said there was a very remote possibility that it's mononucleosis...but that he thought that would be unlikely seeing as I've already had it...but all my symptoms pointed towards that. I didn't even think you could get mono again. Anyone know?

Anyways, I'm just feeling sorry for myself I guess...sorry for venting
