But I cope Its so overwhelming to be told how sick you are - I was extremely unwell and had 80 % of the foods on the list cut out!! The only things I could have were rice (+ milk), chicken, some veges, some fruit and fructose for a sweetner. I took the bad news as a challenge, and actually felt excited at the prospect of getting better. After 6 weeks on the diet I was a new woman - I couldn't believe the difference that food elimination could make in such a short amount of time. There are soooooo many different ways to prepare food with minimal ingredients. I love cooking, so hit the kitchen in search of the ultimate GF muffin (banana, yum my fav!) and loaf of bread (GF bread is surprisingly tasty!).
Its been 7 months, and while I'm not 100 %, I'm certainly much better, and have had quite a few foods added back into my diet. I have regular BMs every day, something I've never had in my whole life. I still suffer from chronic bloat, but thats because I've been cheating a bit too much with chocolate and wine lately. I will be honest with you, it requires a lot of motivation and willpower to stick to the diet, and it can be pretty tough when you're eating away from home, but you adapt very quickly, and the rewards are like nothing you could imagine!!
Hang in there, you'll be feeling ontop of the world in no time
