I have had IBS-D for about 26 years and it has altered my life tremendously much to my dismay and sorrow. In 1996 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and have been cancer free since having surgery, radiation and chemo. I have seen many doctors and been given the common meds for IBS, with little help. I finally went to my primary doctor and begged her to find me something to stop me from getting the "runs" right after I eat anything with the least bit of fat. She put me on Lipram ( Pancrelipase) and for the first time in all these years I am getting some relief. I still must take fiber or I am really in trouble but it is wonderful to eat and not be heading for the bathroom after the last swallow. I am convinced IBS-D sufferers cannot digest fats properly or at all. If you find this is your problem, speak with your doctor. I am so glad I did.
