Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | grandparents and self medicating

I haven't been around much and and have been stressed a bit more then normal the last few days. My grandmother- who hates medical professionals and medical issues has been self medicating- somewhere she heard it was good to take an aspirin a day. anyway- she wound up in the hospital with internal bleeding on Monday. Mom drove down (atlanta to Hilton Head) and is with my grandparents- Grampa is partially handicapped. They did a colonoscopy yesterday and found diverticulosis that they are blaming on taking the aspirin when she didn't need it. they kept her last night but will release her to go home today. The odd part of all this-

I tried to call to find out the colonscopy results and how she was last night. no answer at the house, at the hospital (they had changed her room and I wasn't notified) or on Mom's cell. I tried dad back in Atlanta- no answer at his cell or the house. I did finally hear from him and then mom a few hours later. but it was very nervewracking what ran through my mind for those hours last night.
