Well, as many of you are aware, I've been seeing an RE for my repeated miscarriages. We went through some testing last month but I didn't ovulate last month so we were not able to finish all the testing. So far, everything has come back fine.

I was supposed to start my period on Sunday and get an ultrasound done tomorrow but AF (AF=Aunt flo which is fertility talk for your period!) seems to be running late!!! So unlike me!! This last D&C really screwed things up with my system! So, as soon as AF arrives we can get started again on testing. I will need another double ultrasound, double meaning both abdominal and transvaginal. Than I will have to use opks (ovulation predictor tests) and as soon as I ovulate, another ultrasound and more blood tests and than a biopsy! Hopefully after all that, I can actually TRY to get pregnant again! She won't comment on a course of treatment until after all these tests are done!

The good news, she wanted me to see a infectious diease specialist to have my hepatitis C checked. I NO longer have the virus!!!! About 4 years ago it was detected in my blood after having my gall bladder removed. I HAD geno type 1, which is the most resistant to treatment. The treatment is basically a year of chemo therpay and is pretty terrible. I refused to treat it since I was only given less than a 20% chance of cure. I did nothing! It seems my system has fought it off and killed it on its own!! Thats a bit rare with the particular geno type I had but the lab could not even detect the virus in my system! Yay!! Very good news!!

The dr did say that sometimes repeated miscarriages can be caused by an underlaying chronic infection so he did draw some more blood to check a few other things, just to be sure! The news of me not having the virus anymore though is great! Hep C is the leading cause of liver cancer and chirosis and is terminal in about 20% of the cases! If you do develop liver cancer or chirosis from it, it is almost always fatal!

Anyways, just thought I'd post an update for anyone who has been following my quest to reproduce!
