He's the middle child, the "tough guy" of the 3, and also the most sensitive! He's a deep little thinker, and often ponders things a while to himself before coming out with a deep question about something from days earlier.
Eric took the 2 boys to see Pooh's Heffalump Movie. When the lights came up, after it was over, he noticed Aaron's little mouth was turned down and he had big tears going down his face. He said, "I miss my Mommy!" In the movie, Roo can't find his mom.
When they got home he ran and hugged me and sat in my lap the whole time he ate his dinner. He's not a clingy, whiney child! Then we talked a while about how he felt and I paid him special attention most of the evening. At bedtime I read him a wonderful Christian children's book called "Just in Case You Ever Wonder" by Max Lucado (not meant to be a plug there but it's just such a wonderful book, says things you might not think to tell your child, like that you're so glad you get to be his Mommy!!) It was a special night.
But now I'm really nervous about whenever I finally have my surgery (REALLY praying I hear from the doctor this week or I'll call back AGAIN)... I could be in hospital ahwile and Im' nervous how he'll handle that. From the outside looking in you'd think Luke or Sarah would struggle more but in truth, it's Aaron who will internalize things more.
Oh well... had to gush.
