As some of you know my son has had ear infections and constant fluid behind his ears since last August. Yesterday I took him to an ENT docotor. He had a hearing test done and I could tell he wasn't hearing well out of his right ear. It really scared me. We went up to the doctor's office and waited an HOUR before he came see us. Ever try to keep a 13month old busy in a small room for an hour. Plus he put a nice smelly present in his pants for the doctor! I was going to change him but I decided the doctor deserved the smell after all that time.
When he came into the room he was acutally very good with mys son. What is boils down too is he has constant fluid behind his ear because his eustachian tubes are short. He is not hearing what he should which scares me. He is schedued to get tubes in his ears the day after Easter. The doctor has assured me that his hearing will be fine after the tubes are in and the fluid can drain. I tell you it is nervewracking as a mom to know that my son is not hearing what he should and will be having a minor surgery. I know that this procedure is done all the time but I am still freaking out a bit! Thanks for letting me vent!
