so I go for my yearly OB/GYN appt and at the end my doc tells me she wants to send me for an sonogram to look at my ovaries to make sure my IBS symptoms aren't really ovary problems. So I have had so many test done I am like okay whatever. So I get to the place and you have to unzip your pants and pull pants and underwear down to thighs so they can do sonogram of tummy to see ovaries. Hey no problem the OB/GYN is exam is way worse than that. I had a full bladder which is required and some lady pressing on my tummy as I am trying not to pee on the table. But it is over before I know it.
AND THEN she says "Did your doctor tell you about the invasive part?" I put two and two together and I must have been twenty shades of red and I say NO. Then she pulls out this probe and I am like I'm sorry you want to do what with that? Stick it where? Ohhh Myyy!! How embarassing? And then she has to move it around to get better pics of my ovaries and is hitting her hands against the inside of my legs. I was so uncomfortable!!
I think if had been prewarned by my doc I could have prepared myself but this was all unexpected. And I got a little more personal with a complete stranger then I had ever wanted to or planned to. I mean I felt like I should have asked her for a cigarrette afterwards. Just joking! But I mean Jeez a little heads up from my doc would have been nice.
And now I get to wait 4 days for the results and she asked me after looking at my ovaries for a few minutes if I already have kids. When I said yes two she seemed almost relieved. Why ask that? Did she see something? Am I never going to be able to have more? I mean hubby doesn't want anymore but I do. And I know we won't have anymore if we aren't both in agreement but the thought of that choice not being ours anymore is upsetting. I don't know I am sure it is nothing.
