Argh... the government is so screwed up when it comes to social services (what I am finding out in school now that I am entering the field  )
That is CRAZY that they won't cover lexapro OR the patch. Sounds like they want to just throw some *cheap* pills at you to make it look like they are doing something.
This makes me very very mad! 
The only thing that they probably cover is the depo shot, I know I had a HORRIBLE time on it, but most people like it cause they don't get their period.
If it is not costing you anything, it wouldn't hurt to take the pill (if it is not affecting you) and use back up.
Even on the patch, I still always used back up, I am too afraid of getting pregnant. I don't trust any BC 100%!
I hated the pill, too. I just don't trust it.
Last time I switched BC, the doctor mentioned there was some kind of ring you insert? It is probably not covered for you, but just an idea.
Sounds like you gotta make do with a crappy situation. If I had a way to get more patches I would send a bunch of mine to you! But they are really strict with mine, I only get x amount every year until i get an exam. Found out the hard way this year when they almost cut me off! 
Hope evertyhing works out, and atleast they still are able to get you the Lexapro right now!
