So Archie's had a limp for about a week that started after a walk. I took him to the vets a week ago thinking it was just a twisted shoulder, but should get it check out. It didn't improve with medication, so the vet said x-rays were needed. He went in today...and now the vet thinks it's possible he's got a growth disorder disease!
But the really BAD news is that we changed our puppy insurance at the beginning of January as the Kennel Club insurance we got 6 weeks free of when we bought him was really expensive and not very efficient. And the new insurer says you can't claim for 28 DAYS after the policy starts (yep, basically you get 11 months for the price of 12). I realised that this would leave us with two weeks of no cover when I got the new insurance, but it was so much better than other policies...
Except that now it looks like Archie might have a serious illness requiring lots of treatment and surgery...and the insurers are saying we probably can't claim for anything to do with it! I went in on Monday, we could use the insurance from Thursday.
We are pretty broke anyway ...luckily Si had his "tax" money in his business savings a/c to pay for today.
So I'm sitting here drinking the wine we had meant to save for a special occasion and trying not to cry. He's my baby, and he's upset enough as it is from no walks for a week!

Bad, bad day!
