I think old people are selfish, making the most money in the country, but then choosing to retire and not work, instead claiming social security and medicare and becoming a drain on government resources. They have no time to be polite or courteous to others and would rather complain loudly in public restaurants and stores. They breach decency and decorum easily, talking freely and rudely about their medical problems and complaining about social progresses like voice mail and electronic media. On that subject they are threatened by any new technology that threatens their little subset of skills, preferring rather to complain than to learn. They are rude and disinterested in getting along socially with any stranger who might rub them the wrong way, and then wonder why they are shunned socially and not invited to new places. They believe they are "owed" and conduct themselves accordingly. They drive worse than teenagers and have little regard for the safety hazzard they pose others on the road. But old people don't bother me more than any other group of people, just differently.
