Well, I had a follow up appt with my foot dr today, actually he is an orthopedic surgeon. He took x-rays of both my foot and my hips. I do have some changes in the smaller bones on the outside of my foot from the RSD but, with time, that should clear up. I have about 65% mobility back but its still pretty weak. More physical therpay and time. He said it may be another year and even then, I'll probably only get 90% of the motility and streangth back. But he said that was actually very remarkable. Most people who develop RSD only get about half that!! He said because we caught it early and got the spinal treatments early, I should do well!
As for my hips, I have hip bursitis. They have bothered me on and off for about 5 years but the last year the have gotten much worse. Lately, I can only sleep about 20 minutes at a time on my side before the hip pain wakes me up. Which isn't doing a thing for my troubles sleeping! Not to mention, it hurts like heck! So, I ended up getting a shot of cortisone in each hip-can we say OUCH, OUCH, AND OUCH!!! He said that should really help. I guess we will see tonight when I try to sleep!! right now, its pretty darn sore, those were some big needles!
I see my regular dr this Thursday and I'm going to talk about changin some of my medications and maybe getting something to help me sleep, the Xanax are not working anymore! Than next Thursday is the big appt with the RE! I'm very hopeful and just trying to work on being patient!
Thanks for everyones continued support, prayers, hugs and love!! I don't know what I would have done without all of you!
