I work as an acquistions technician at a college library. Basicly, I order books for the library create Purchase Orders and Invoices, order supplies, make sure bills get paid, a little circulation, contact vendors for items, credit accounts, process book shipments, keep lot's of filing on paperwork, balance cash drawers, etc.
Do way more work than what they pay me. Average acquisition tech for libraries make about $35,000. Didn't realize that before I took this job. Should have never left my old job! I've only been here 1 1/2 months. My IBS is worse, I'm actually netting less money, working more hours, and work is much more difficult.
Big mistake! Might be looking for a new job once again, but not sure how to explain only staying at a job for 2 months or so. Who would trust that I wouldn't do that to them.
Anyone, that is something I plan on posting on later to get feedback from other wise and great supportive people.
Michele, so glad you are feeling more positive. I think of you frequently throughout the day. You have found a place in my heart and I wish you only good things soon!
BTW, my degree is in psychology!
