Ok, last night was...interesting...................
My BF and I went over to his aunt & uncles for dinner. We were served an African dish of some kind with onions, vinegar, mustard and pepper curry. I love ethnic dishes but I knew this one would be hard to eat. But they made a special one just for us with no chicken so I HAD to eat it. I ate it with lots of white rice and seemed fine. Phew, I thought....
Right after dinner we had to go to a big x-mas party our friends were having. That went very well and I didn't have any alcohol. But I had way too many bad things that I am kicking myself for now. I just had ZERO will power. The hostess made this amazing dark chocolate & white chocolate bark with crushed candy canes throughout. I ate about six pieces. Ooooops.......
But I was still fine. Fine enough that when my friend asked me at midnight to go dancing with her and some friends I agreed. I think I was on a serious sugar and caffeine rush from all that chocolate!
So we went dancing until 3am and left the club and both had an excellent time. That's when IT hit me. The BIG D! OMG!!!!! I had to RUN back to the club and use their washroom. I took an Imodium and figured I'd be able to make it home. No such luck. We got back to my car and drove away. Two minutes later it hit me again. We had to park real fast and I ran like mad to another bar that was closed. But they let me use their toilet. Thank god!
Somehow, I made it to my friend's place where I used her toilet and then drove home. I got home and my BF was in bed asleep. I woke him up to tell him that I had the stomach flu or I was having a very, very bad IBS attack. He kept saying "no honey, I'm fine". He was so out of it! He was probably still drunk, I'm guessing.
I went one more time and by 4am I think I finally was "all done" and fell asleep.
My friend that I was with last night is an absolute angel as she was super calm and supportive throughout my whole attack. She talked to me while I was driving and in tons of pain and trying to hold everything in. (It was almost impossible too, btw) She has another close friend with IBS and says she's gone through this many, many times. What a great pal.
* Oh ya, I got hit on by 3 guys at the club. If only they knew what state I was in only an hour later.
And my tummy feels fine today. So was it a very bad IBS attack or some kind of stomach bug????

** UPDATE- Well I was fine for most of the day yesterday and then I started feeling VERY nauseated again. And it hasn't gone away so I called in sick today. I think it's some kind of stomach bug and not my IBS??? Aaaghhhh, I feel really, really bad today.
