I can't say for sure about the puppy thing, but I have seen stuff about this on tv. Some dogs and cats are brought to places like nursing homes and such to help with patient morale.

However Ruchie, if you haven't already, I think you should think this through completely before doing it. Puppies are A LOT of work. They need a lot of attention and a lot of care... potty training is one thing that comes to mind, also they get into things all the time. They need discipline and training to be happy dogs.

On a happier note, a puppy may help you to concentrate on things other than what's hurting in your body and your depression. They are a lot of fun to be around too.
