Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Relationship question...

I just wanted to get some of your opinions on something.

My BF has been changing his diet to be more healthy, working out again and cut out coffee. He has also started taking something called Greens+ which is a healthy supplement for extra energy, etc.

My problem is that every single day he tells me how healthy and fantastic he feels. I tell him that's great, which it is. And I am happy for him.

But after hearing this daily for the past week I finally told him that since I don't feel great these days and am either super exhausted or have stomach pains that it makes me feel bad. I find it hard for him to keep telling me he feels great when I have to struggle to eat right because of my IBS or am so tired all the time. (Some days are super, some aren't -- I have WAY more good IBS days, a lot of tired days from my insomnia problem though).

His response was basically "too bad". He can't "put his life on hold because of my illness". He thinks I'm jealous and I tried to explain that it's not AT ALL about that. He says that if he can't tell me when he feels great that he might not want to be with me. And we talked about breaking up but he later hugged me and said forget it. I told him I had to be with someone that gave me some support when I feel bad and not someone to always tell me to stop complaining. That's what he does. I even told him that when I complain about my health he doesn't have to say a word. A big hug is worth so much.

Do you think that I'm being too sensitive because I'm going through a tough time?
