Yes. I have heard the same thing also and it is true in most cases. However, with me they have checked my hormones after ovulating before pregnancy and confirmed that I don't make enough progesterone. They also did an autospy on my little girl and she was completey healthy. I have been tested for all the other things I mentioned to you before and they have determined me to be progesterone defiecent. If there is something wrong with the baby, like a chromosone problem or something, than that can also make your progesterone low and taking supplements will not correct this kind of a thing.
