Loc: Within stray mortar fire of DC

I have IBS-D, pain-predominant, with gas, cramping and explosive D since age 12 (I'm 33 now). At my worst, I had daily D, 11 or more times a week. Now, i'll have an attack every 2 weeks or so. My attacks can be sudden (usually when I'm anxious or stressed) or come on slowly, as cramping and sharp little pain, blowing up into constant stabbing pain, fevers, gas and explosive D.

The attacks come on due to pressure on the stomach, heat, exercise, or within 30 minutes of eating a trigger food. My top food triggers are dairy, fruits and vegs (except for green vegetables thoroughly cooked), insoluable fiber, spicy foods, cold foods or drinks, and alcohol.

Everybody's symptoms vary, but I think they all hinge around a loss of mobility, discomfort, and painful bowel movements. After trying and failing at being treated with traditional mood stabilizers, I'm being treated with loperamide (Imodium), SFS, a modified diet, gas relievers, and opiate-based longterm pain management. It's brought me to where I was able to graduate college and hold down a full-time job!
