That's great news Catherine, best of luck with the move. I can sympathise with the delays...We viewed our house on January 20th last year, our offer was accepted first week in April and we exchanged first week of June, and closed 11th July. All the delays drove me crazy, and I am a solicitor so I understood what was happening and knew that the delays were ridiculous and purely the fault of the vendor's solicitor. At one stage the other solicitor told mine (a friend who acted for me) that the house wasn't freehold but leasehold with only 15 years to run....I went crazy! (it was complete lies) I am so glad I didn't act for myself, I would have been WAY too emotionally involved!
They also phoned us to close before they had sent all the documents to my solr including a "burden" on the title that could have been anything- it ended up just being the right of the Local Authority to enter our garden because there is a manhole there.
Anyway I really understand the frustrations you guys have been going through. I am just thankful that our place worked out so well, we are here over a year now and still have tons of DIY to do, but I agree with Casey, there is something fantastic about cooking in your own kitchen or sitting on your own couch.
