Re: My son has to have his adenoids and tonsils removed!       09/16/04 01:43 PM Edit Reply Quote gopher Reged: 09/15/04 Posts: 17 Loc: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada I had my tonsils and adnoids out when I was 13,(I am 31 now) no problems....My husband however had only his tonsils out when he was 3 but for some reason they left his adnoids in....he is now 32 and just this past year, he had a test very similar to the one your son had and his O2 level would drop to the low 60's.....this has been diagnosed as Sleep Apnea and he now uses a machine everynite called CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) basically what it does is keeps the airways open so he does not stop breathing in his sleep and it is amazing what a difference it makes in his day.....
