Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | My friend died and i am still in shock.

I got home yesterday evening to find a message on my answering machine from a friend of mine,she was crying hysterically and telling me our old girlfriend from high school had died suddenly at home.I am still in shock, she was only 35 yrs old. Tammy was the sweetest,most giving person i know,but so very deeply emotionally scarred for most of her life.Tammy was sexually abused by her father from the age of 8 or 9 until she finally told someone about the abuse at age 13.Her parents were divorced and she was living with her father at the time.She then went to live with her mother and her step-father started to mess with her too, her mother chose her husband over her daughter and she was sent to live with her grandmother.Our Freshman year of high school,Tammy's brother who was also her best friend,was murdered.She was never the same after he died.Because of all the emotional and sexual abuse in her life,she became very sexually active(a distorded sense of Love for her)and became pregnant during our senior year of high school.She had so many struggles in life,was diagnosed with schitzophrenia(spelling???) and bi polar disorder shortly after the birth of her daughter.She had been in and out of mental health hospitals,thru abusive relationships and lost custody of her daughter to her mother.Even thru all this,she always greeted you with a smile and a hug.She wanted to please everyone around her,always thinking of others first. They suspect she had a heart attack,which was weakened this past winter from a stroke she suffered. I am gonna miss her so much,but a part of me is so happy for her that she is finally at peace after such an agonizing mental roller coaster of a life she had to endure,she is finally with her brother whom she adored.I still cant believe she is gone,,,,,,thank you for letting me vent,i guess i just wanted to share this with you all?~~~~Tanya
