I'm doing the what you can eat when you can't eat anything (day 2). My work has a canteen so I don't have to rely on take out etc and I usually can get just rice or just potatoes, the chefs are really nice and always offering to make special stuff for me too. BUT you might have to share a table with people you don't necessarily know from other departments etc, and for the last 2 days the people I have shared with have commented on what I have been eating. One of them I knew, and I didn't mind just explaining that I am "on a special diet, hopefully short term, for stomach problems", he was embarassed and left it at that.
BUT TODAY....this obnoxious guy sat 2 seats away from me, looked at my plate of rice and said "that's some funny diet you are on".
There he was, a walking heart attack, his plate piled high with a burger, fries and onion rings commenting on MY diet.
I was SOOO mad at him. It is none of his business what I eat!
Has anyone got any good ways to deal with these types of situations? (or even comforting words to calm me down?) Its hard enough walking by the yummy looking pork stirfry and raspberry cheesecake without having to deal with ignorant people like that!
Thanks,
S.
