Nissen Fundoplication and IBS?

Can you help me? I know this is long but my situation is a little different…

I discovered this site while searching for answers to my as yet undiagnosed condition. I am 47 with chronic D, weight loss (20% body weight), anxiety and tremors (I can barely type this), fear of eating, sweats and abdominal distress (cramps, dull pain, gas, bloating) after eating. I have not had constipation typical of IBS. This all started this fall, about 8 months after a Nissen Fundoplication to repair an extreme hiatal hernia in Des Moines. Could this trigger IBS?

I saw a letter from Deborah Naert here about the fennel tea. I hope she sees this and lets me know more about her situation (I could have written the first part of that letter!). I am desperate for answers. I am curious about others who have had this procedure and if they are having digestive problems too.

I HAVE ordered the big kahuna kit, even though I haven't been diagnosed IBS yet. I have had multiple invasive tests (abdominal CT, Upper gastroscopy, colonoscopy, pillcam, barium swallow intestinal xray, stool tests, misc. blood tests, etc.), all came back normal. My GI was looking for adhesions as a result of the surgery. He doesn't seem to offer any other explanations. The tests were torture! and still I have no answers. He did not mention IBS at all.

I am too weak and afraid to leave the house. I can't take care of my family (husband and 14 year old daughter) or my house. I have been off work for 5 weeks now. I am afraid I will lose my husband of 24 years (he's doing everything). He doesn't understand. I don't understand.

I am seeing a new GI on Tuesday and have an appointment at Mayo the following week (although I may cancel it for now until the new doc can help me). We can't afford a 5 day trip right now.

I have followed the getting started ideas for the last two days and am waiting for my kit to arrive. I started doing hatha yoga again (after 25 years). I have had more normal stools. I still wake in a sweat and in pain until I have a BM. Then I feel anxiety and shake all day. I am weak and tired no matter what I eat or how long I sleep. I can force myself to eat some but NEVER FEEL HUNGRY. I can usually eat a more normal small meal in the evening. My vision seems to be involved, is that weird? Do I need to see a phychiatrist who specializes in digestive disorders? What's your best advice for someone like me? Are there degrees of IBS? Can you help me?
