born with IBS?       06/26/07 08:18 AM Edit Reply Quote Taryn Jodi Reged: 10/24/06 Posts: 18 I have a few questions that I have yet to come across in my readings: Are we born with IBS, or can IBS develop later in our life? I read in Heather's book (The First Year) that IBS does not progress, but has anyone been diagnosed with IBS and it has seemed to have gotten worse? I changed my diet last May and things have been better for me in the last year; however, over the past few months I feel like my symptoms are much worse - more bloating, more gas, more constipation, etc. Also, I did not seem to really have any "IBS" problems until 2004, when I got severely constipated for about a week and things were never the same since then. I was diagnosed with IBS the following year (2005) based off symptoms alone. If anyone can answer my questions or direct me to a direct resources that discusses this I would greatly appreciate it.
