Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: Just wanted to say hi

Thanks for your replies ladies, it's very reassuring to have your support.
Unfortunately I'm having a bit of a rubbish day with it today - had to sit through a work meeting and an hour and a half's journey back in my boss's car with gritted teeth as my tummy decided that it would be a good idea to play up for no apparant reason! There's nothing quite so horrible as the threat of getting an attack in someone's elses car (let alone your boss's - ahhh)!

Also just had to cancel going to stay with a friend in London at the weekend who I havent seen for ages as I know I'm not going to be able to face dealing with the pains and discomfort.

I have been following Heather's diet and without it I feel I would be in a much worse place than I am now (at least I can attempt car journeys!) but I can't help feeling depressed and defeated everytime a fresh pain etc.. raises its head. I just keep comparing myself with people around me who dont even give a passing thought about their toilet habits - can you imagine!

How do you guys keep your chin up and manage to hold onto a positive attitude through this stupid illness?? I think I need some tips!
