Hair Loss...any advice?

Hey Guys,

I'm really freaking about my hair loss and would love some advice. I've been losing a lot of hair from my head and my leg hair isn't growing normally. I've been told by my doctors that I have folliculitis on my legs (so I can't shave ) but we're treating that. They didn't seem too concerned about my head because I have so much hair - it still matters to me though. It comes out all the time, when I run my hand through it, brush it, even when I'm just sitting around. And the weirdest or worst part is that the pieces that fall out are coming right from the root...you can see the little white root on them. That used to only ever happen if I yanked hair out. So it's not that my hair is breaking - it's falling right from the follicule.

Any advice? All I can say that might be relevant is I had my hair colored at a salon twice this year which I've never had done before...I've gone from washing it every day to every 2-3 days (although I was told that would help) and that my hormones are screwed up. Sex hormones (estrogen, testosterone, FSH and LH) are all inredibly low and cortisol is high. Oh, and my iron is also very low and probably my folate as well.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
