Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Day without immigrants?? (Play nice..good+bad)

I was just curious, if it's not too controvercial (i know that was spelled wrong...) what everyone thought of this ordeal?

I have thoughts on BOTH sides...for one..i work at a resturaunt....all the cooks and bussers are mexican...and none are legal, except one of our servers (who doesn't really like mexicans...and is really more into being white...don't ask) so as far as food and those things go...without them...alot of places would be screwed for awhile...i don't mean to sound really racest here...but really...lawns wouldn't be taken care of, food wouldn't be ready for places to eat, houses wouldn't be cleaned....fields would be unpicked....gas stations (i know those are more middle easterners) wouldn't have workers...hotels wouldn't get their house cleaning...

our economy is bad right now, and it would open up alot of jobs for people who are here legally...but how many people would take those jobs??

on the other hand...my daughter's father is mexican..and i saw the dark side of it all...the beatings, the abuse, the ignorace, the illigal activities...the way the families multiply, and just expect to live off welfare, and whatever the government will provide them...and will take almost anything free..that our tax dollars go to, but when they talk, they say how they think mexico is so much better...and all the wrong things about this government, and the white people... i understand they aren't all like that...but i knew alot of them....and i know the mexican government is really bad...because i've talked to a few that work at my job, on why they live here, but always say mexico is so great...and honestly i like most of them at my work...but i feel so bad for the women, because many of them have low self esteem because of the way they are treated by their families...and how they view women...i've seen it first hand, been there first hand...

so i have views on both sides...
does anyone have other thoughts....just as long as it doens't turn into a bad debate!!
