Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | baby shower next week...but where is my food?!?

my step mom and sister in law have been planning my shower. my step mom told me what she is going to have for food then goes "do you want me to just get you some sushi or something?" which was nice, because she knows i like sushi...but i was like...i can have healthy food...it's kinda mean to just exclude me from what i can eat...especially when i'm pregannt!!

so they are having fruits, and a deli tray...i said i wanted sour dough, becuase thats the only bread i can have...she said she's getting white and wheat...i said i would brng stuff to share with people that i can have too.,but she doen'st want me to do anything...but if i don't, i'll be all butt-hurt that i can't eat!!

then she goes "i'm getting a cake from costco, vanilla and strawberry, and i have ice cream too, eveyrone will like that" i'm like WHAT ABOUT ME?!?!?!?!? i didn't want to make a big deal, becuase they are throwing me a shower...and i've emailed her telling her what I can have...but then they aren't following it, she said i can bring my own food if i want...but really what i am asking isn't stuff that other's wont eat...i said i could make a spinich dip, that i can eat, and no one can tell it's soy, she said "no dont make anything, you need to just come" which is nice....but i wanna eat fun stuff too! my mom is in charge of fruit and chips and dip, so i told her what i wanted, and my mom will get what i can have, because she knows how sick i can get...but i'm thinking i may just make some brownies for everyone, that i can eat too...and make the dip and stuff i know she wont get mad or offended....and my step mom actually has digestive problems too (not as bad as mine, but she can't havve ANYTHING with seeds, and she's sometimes lactose intollerant...but some things she can have, but she gets d alot too) so it seems like she would be more understanding....BUT NO!!!

i guess i needed to rant a little, but i feel like if it's my shower, she should follow what i can have...and get cake that i can have, and food that i can have..it just doen'st seem fair, you know...
