Have you ever had a stranger do something kind for you? If so, please share.
I had a horrible day, I was physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and somebody that I trusted had lied straight to my face. I was angry and disappointed, partly with myself for having given of myself so freely.
Cooking supper was the last thing I wanted to do, so I went out to a nearby restaurant to eat. The hostess greeted me and asked how I was. Not wanting to expend energy to put on a facade, I said that it was just one of those days where nothing goes right.
The hostess said that she hoped things would get better, so I nodded, but inside I was thinking how easy it is to just say words without actually backing them up. "Just another gal that says one thing and does another," I thought.
To my surprise she cleared it with her manager, and paid for my appetizer. I was amazed -- after all someone that I trusted had betrayed me, yet a complete stranger went out of her way to make my day better.
I made sure to thank her appropriately before I left. 
It's been a few days and while I still feel ticked off, everytime I think about what that young lady did, I can't help but smile and know that there are decent people out there, who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.
