I have to quit working in the family business. It's just too damn stressful. The employees are disrespectful. It's been five years of misery. I can't deal with it in a civil way, anymore. So, instead of making one of those guys a cripple, I have to stop associating with them.
This may seem a little overdramatic, but it's been going on for five miserable years. Time to hit the pavement and get a "real job." After working with these monkeys (I'm showing great restraint in my choice of words) any situation has to be better. It's true what they say about construction workers and their filthy mouths/minds. I have a friggin' college degree. Those guys barely finished high school. And, they are drug-addicts (one has a pot farm in his house, no sh*t).
Family loyalty is one thing, but this situation has dragged me down for too long. It's time to move on.
