Yes, I agree. The IBS has been going on for about five years; the depression, since adolescence.
As for the latter, it's so "matter-of-fact" in my life, now, that it's not something to be sensitive about. Besides, it kind of weeds out the people whom are best not to associate with...& I try to keep that attitude.
It can be quite annoying, at times; the ignorance. But, hey, we all have a "cross" to bear... I'm really not that unique of a case, but if I can help my "brothers and sisters" out there, why not! -even if it means just giving "that crazy dude" on the corner some change or a cigarette. It's simply good karma. It's amazing what the fellowship in this group has done to ease my stress level. It's like: finally, there's people who understand. & Heather has a special place in Heaven for creating this forum...

PS. Yes, educating people is important, even if they don't want to hear it. It gives one peace of mind to know that at least the issue was addressed. I don't believe in silence when dealing with health issues. God Bless.
