Hi,
I want to first thank Heather for this site and all of the information she provides. I have dealt with IBS-C since I was a child. It has fluctuated at different times (being pregnant and other major life occurences), but I have always just lived with it.
The past couple of years, with life being hectic as a mom, working full-time, trying to manage everything, I have developed a general anxiety around my health. Just knowing that I wasn't eating the best I could or exercising as much, I became obsessed with the internet and looking into every symptom or feeling I was having. I was starting to have all types of IBS attacks with every worry I had.
Finally, I went to see a new doctor and she was very helpful in explaining everything to me. About IBS, about being nervous all the time, about preventative care and doing things to promote my health.
After the appointment, I made a promise to stop the nonsense and just live life. However, in order to do this, I really need to start addressing my IBS. Even after the appointment, I continue to have IBS-C issues (turn to IBS-D issues when I'm nervous).
I have purchased Heather's starter kit and hope that this is the beginning of getting back to life and not being so miserable around my family, friends and at work.
I look forward to reading other posts and supporting and being supported by others who share these same issues. Thanks!
