How long have you been having the symptoms? And what symptoms are you having the most (pain, D, C, etc).
Like I said, weight loss for me was normal because I could not eat as much as I needed to. This is not a 'symptom' of IBS, but your IBS can affect how much you eat. If you still feel like it could be something else, then continue pushing your doctors for more tests.
It will be tough to really start Heather's diet during Ramadan. One of the main things is to never let your stomach be empty, and not overeat at meals. But, it is only one more week, so read this website a lot and become familiar with the diet over the next week.
Also, this post about weight is fine for this board (fitness/lifestyle) but sometimes there isn't as many people who respond here. Try posting most questions about IBS in the first board Eating for IBS Diet Board. You'll get a lot more replies there.
