My smoothies are exclusively fruit. I generally combine high IF fruits with SF fruits, i.e. strawberry/mango or blueberry/banana or raspberry/papaya, etc. Peeled peaches are fabulous in smoothies. Ditto for kiwis. Even citrus! Sometimes, I simply blend a single fruit! Use your imagination. The all-fruit ones are very refreshing, especially as the weather gets warmer.
SF fruits add a natural "creaminess." Have you ever had pureed (peeled, of course!) peaches? They are a delight.
Anyways, smoothies are a great pick-me-up. Also, if you control the ingredients, you control how figure-friendly they are!
Another option, perhaps, might be to use some silken lowfat tofu--that transforms it into a custardy kind of dessert.
Have fun. I'm strange in the way that I don't like to confuse my tummy with too many conflicting digestive tasks at one time.
Smoothies (like blender soups) can be beneficial to IBS'ers--safer ways of consuming anti-oxidants and fiber.
Kate.
