If not, don't let the frustration overwhelm you. Instead, gain an understanding of what may be preventing your weight loss and make a change.
You may have noticed you've strayed from your new eating plan. The key is not to beat yourself up over it, but to understand why you strayed in the first place. Common causes include negative emotions, stress, or a change in routine. The trick is to catch the lapse before it causes you to fall back to your old habits.
The people around you can sometimes be your worst enemies. Coworkers who beg you to go out to lunch instead of your walk. Or a significant other might undermine your weight loss efforts. Try talking to these people about your goals and how they can help you.
The couch is another reason you may be gaining. Too little movement and too much snacking will foil anyone's weight loss plans. Try walking around during the commercials or making a rule not to eat while watching television.
After losing about 10% of your initial weight, your body's hormones start working against you. A hunger hormone called ghrelin increases and a fullness hormone called leptin decreases as your body fights to get back to its baseline weight and counteract your weight loss. When hungry, fill up on low calorie foods such as fruits and vegetables.
Most importantly, congratulate yourself that you've figured out what needs to be done. Then do it!
