Amber, first a very warm welcome to our community here! It's really a great place.
I take a lot of Imodium as a preventive and have absolutely no long term problems with it. My husband used to be worried that I was taking too much too often, but once my doctor said it was okay, he stopped worrying. Of course everybody's different and I'm not a doctor, so go by what your doctor says is okay for you. But I've been stable (no diarrhea attacks) for over 7 months now, and one of the major reasons is I started taking Imodium as a preventive rather than after the attack had already started. So I swear by it.
BTW, I believe Imodium comes in liquid form for children, so if 1 tablet isn't enough and 2 is too much, you can take 1 1/2 doses with the liquid. Or if 1 is too much you can take 1/2 or even less with the liquid. That way you don't swing to C.
Hope this helps and keep coming back, okay??!!
