I want to congratulate you for being such a strong advocate for your own health! It's a very sad but true fact that too many doctors are quick to diagnose IBS without a single test! I DEFINITELY think you need to insist on the appropriate tests for an IBS diagnosis, and one of them is to rule out ovarian cancer. I think it's especially important that you do so if you feel you're showing symptoms of that. I know it would be hard for me to stand up to the doctor, so why not bring someone who loves you with you? They are far more likely to be able to be "brave" on your behalf. (There is a section on this site with all the tests you should have.)
