I'm sorry that you feel crappy. I completely understand.
I've also told some of my best friends with mostly good reactions. I think it's a good way to test friendships. For example, I can't drink anymore like you. I have one or two friends that live out of town and come up to "party" every few months. I can't go out drinking anymore and have come up with so many excuses why but finally told these two girls that I have IBS. One of their father's has Chrohn's so I thought she'd understand.
They still think that I can get drunk just the one night they'll be in town. They really don't get it at all. I have to wonder how much they care about me if they'd rather me drink with them and pay for it the next few days. I've decided that's it's not worth it and I really don't miss the alcohol at all. I had my teenage years-early 20's to drink like a fish and stay out all night. Now that I'm in my late 20's, I'm so over that.
