I struggled with this too. Both of my parents grew up on dairy farms and creamy things are my absolute favorite. Yet the diet did not make me feel better until I stopped cheating. The good news is that when I stabilized little tiny bits of this or that every so often do not cause problems. Those bits for me still need to be lower in fat though. But maybe your goal could be to someday be good enough to have your absolute favorite things as a treat in small amounts- and you will really appreciate them more! Or you might say that having a tiny bit of your favorite thing is worth the stomach upset that follows and that of course is your prerogative, isn't it?

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
