Hello everyone, I"m new here and so let me introduce myself. I'm Sharon and I live in Central CA. I have IBS/D. Things had been pretty quiet in the IBS area until my MD started me on a beta blocker for borderline hypertension about 8 weeks ago. Then I had one of the worst episodes of IBS that I've had in 3 or 4 years. My CNS did not take kindly to being messed with apparently! Heather's diet has certainly made my life easier. I was on the "What to eat when you can't eat anything" portion for nearly a week before my poor middle calmed down even a little. I'm still having an episode about every week, but each week seems less severe (touch wood) than before.
I have a question about the acacia....... Whenever I use it, my tongue tingles and gets a little itchy. I have no allergies to the acacia tree or its products to my knowledge and I don't appear to have any negative reaction digestively, just the itchy tongue. Is this a common side-effect?
It's so nice to find a group that knows about IBS and the trials and tribulations that it can bring.
