Ok, so I finally picked up a probiotic today. I've had problems finding one, because I have problems swallowing large pills, and so ended up going with a children's chewable (Rhino by Nutrition Now).
Now, of course, I'm scared to death to take the stuff. I haven't had any D for a week (woohoo!) AND I've been managing to eat, and I really don't want to break that cycle. (Cara, I remember your problems with the Jarro/FOS.)
I did a board search and saw that FOS is similar to inulin. Since I tolerate inulin perfectly fine (in fact, that's my SFS of choice), do you think the chances of the FOS bothering me are slim (or at least lower)?
Also, since this is a children's supplement... assuming I do work up the nerve to finally take it, I want to make sure I'm taking "enough". One tablet provides 300mg of a probiotic blend containing FOS, lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidobacterium bifidum, and bifidobacterium longum. For a child, it says up to 2 a day. I will most likely just try one tablet to start, but wanted to know how that compares to an adult dosage, for those of you who are taking an effective dose.
They smell good, anyway. Mm, raspberry.
