I'm sorry to hear about your hospital stay. It is really scary to find blood where it does not belong. I recently had a similar experience. After a horrible bout of ibs-d (we're talkin over 20 per day for over a week) I began bleeding rectally. My primary sent me to the er. They diagnosed it as an ulcerated hemmoroid and cauterized it (with no Painkillers! ouch!) Within two days, because my d was no better, I had reopened the wound and was back at the er. That time they decided to treat the d and just put gauze on the hemmoroid. This lovely event began a series of tests - i'm sure you know the drill - colonoscopy, endoscopy, cat scan, upper gi, ultra sound of gallbladder, blood tests and stool sample screenings. Of course they discovered what I've known all along...I have ibs-d!

I hope my tale of woe at least helps you feel like you have a war buddy. I highly recommend B&O suppositories for the rectal pain and spasms. If I didn't have them, I really would have ripped myself a new...
