I've been IBS-A for years now but I've swung over to C in the past 6 months or so....
my doc told me to try and "go" at the same time each day so that your body gets into a routine of "going" everyday.
Sit for at least 1/2 hour... (someone else also mentioned this)at the same time each day and then after doing that for a little while your body will start to get accustomed to it and you'll find it easier to have a BM.... Try and make sure it's at a time each day when you know you can have some peace and quiet and you won't be disturbed...bring a book/some magazines and just try and relax....you'd be amazed at how much easier it will become to have a BM when you're not stressing and you allow yourself some alone time....
This is not a gauranteed solution but it seems to have helped me....
