I am also a D. My doc prescribed an antispasmodic for me years ago -- and when I didn't like it, he prescribed another -- and then another -- until I found one I liked. No, Immodium is not an antispasmodic; it's for diarrhea and does nothing when you're cramped up. In fact, some antispasmodics do nothing (such as NuLev).

Once you're stable, you won't have need for the antispasmodics except on a very rare occasion. My bottle of Donnatal is about to expire, and it's still practically full.

The only over-the-counter antispasmodic is Heather's peppermint caps. Can you tolerate peppermint? If so, you might consider ordering some from her. Check out the link to your left.
