Hi, my name is Cindy and I wanted to tell you that you are not alone. How horrible that these people are so insensitive. I went through the same things at work that you are going through right now. Lucky for me I found a friend who went around and spoke to the office about my condition and how terrible it is. She told them instead of making fun of me if they have any questions just ask me about it don't make fun of me because it is something you can't control. I have had IBS for seven years now and I was at the same point of not wanting to live. Please know that many people including myself are here for you so feel free to email me. I have had to quit working because of IBS and I also have other conditions that don't allow me to work. This is very hard for me considering I use to be such an active person with a great job. I have filed for disability and I am still waiting, I have been turned down twice now but I am not giving up. This is my only hope since I truly can't work. I did hire an atty. and hope this time I get it. My parents have been so supportive to me. They have stood by my side holding me up when I couldn't stand or sit alone because I was so week from diariah, and vomiting on a constant basis. I have learned that this is part of who I am now and need to go on with my life as it is. Find yourself support and say the heck with everyone else. If it is bad enough file for disability, IBS is considerded to be a disability now. I know it is not what anyone wants but I just got tired of the stares, smirky grins and sometimes not even making it to the bathroom. I now have wonderful grandkids and they are the light in my life. These little people don't judge me they just love me and that makes life so much easier. With the pressure of work and everything else off my mind I can still smile now and have found hobbys I can do at home. I hope this helps to know you are not alone.
