We just found out this past Feb. that our 13 year old daughter has IBS. Thankfully God led us to this wonderful site and we immediately incorporated the soluble fiber into her diet. This resulted in a wonderful change.
However, when we went on vacation and she ate the correct foods at a restaurant - she was OK until our other daughter said her tummy hurt and she needed to go potty. Then our daughter with IBS seemed to panic. And she had one of the worst attacks ever! She took Bentyl, Levisin and Imodium and still the pain lasted for more than an hour.
Now more than a month later, she refuses to eat anything out of the ordinary at home and not at any resturant. She will not even eat something if it is cooked in a different pot than usual. She eats biscuits for breakfast, saltines and a box soup mix for lunch, ritz for snacks and then whatever I cook for dinner - which is usually 1 or 2 veggies, potatoes or rice and a meat. Oh, and she always has sourdough bread before each meal. I bought the souble fiber sold here, but she is afraid to try it.
I'm sorry this is so long, but I'm very worried. Is any of this normal for IBS sufferers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
