Hi, everyone:
Well, my husband and I got back from our camping trip this afternoon, which was wonderful--except that my IBS acted up the worst it has in ages! We were on a highway in the middle of nowhere, and I was seriously ready to have him pull over so I could go in the roadside ditch. Fortunately, just when I thought I could take it no longer, a Shell station appeared in the distance. Thank God!
I think I had gotten a bad case of "IBS arrogance." I had been feeling so well that I started cheating really recklessly. I had lots of fast food, whole wheat crackers, nuts... I just ate as though I didn't have IBS, and I paid for it by having D in random gas stations and outhouse bathrooms (ewww).
So, here I am on the blandest diet imaginable. I am going to finally do things the right way by starting a food diary and SLOWLY adding new things so I can identify my real triggers. I have a question for Bev and other diary-keepers, though. Since it sometimes takes a day for the D to hit from ingesting a certain food, how are you sure about the specific trigger?
Anyway, thanks for listening. I'll get this figured out yet, and I hope for a better experience when we camp again in August!
