Unfortunately, if you have GERDS, this isn't an option at all. Some people have found that they have a peppermint aftertaste for a while after they take the capsule so they don't even want the tea afterwards. One thing you can maybe do if you think it's overkill is drink a tea with peppermint in it. Celestial Seasonings Tummy Mint tea has fennel, peppermint, and chamomile in it.
